So... contrary to our gut feeling that this time things were going to work, they didn't. Unfortunately, the surrogate's blood test came back negative. The weird part is that at this point, with so many negatives, we are purely annoyed. Why does this have to be so difficult?
We haven't gotten much response from the doc on what next steps are but we are in the process of reconsidering the best plan of attack. The road thus far has been far from easy and we're wondering if we should just start fresh, with a new clinic, a new doc and fresh embryos. It's a gamble but we don't want to give up yet.
No worries though about us. We're totally fine. A bit bummed and annoyed with the entire process, but determined to figure it out somehow. Anyone know magic?
More to come when we sort out next steps!

I don't like this post. I'm sorry guys. I wish it were magic but it is something much more elusive...LUCK! If you keep moving forward, you'll get there....but for now, DAMMIT!
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry to hear this. Seems like you have thought about your Plan B though and that you're already looking into the future. Hang in there! You're in my thoughts and prayers!
ReplyDeleteSo sorry to read this, like Edward I do not like this update!! I wish I had your email, as we had a similar path I can commiserate with you!!

Crap! This really sucks. We worked with three different clinics and didn't get pregnant until our 5th attempt. For what it is worth, I think you should do what will work best for you. There are so many variables and it is hard to know why something isn't working and basically the only thing you really have control of is to change some of the variables. Please don't give up if you really want a baby. Hugs, Amber
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry about the BFN, but I think your first initial feeling (fresh start) is always the best one :)
ReplyDeletehey guys just found your blog. i'm sorry about your negative. don't give up. we had dreams of having a baby years ago and didn't take any serious action until january 2010 and we are still aren't out of the woods yet. annoyance, sadness, anger, it's all part of the process and for some of us it isn't as easy. We did two transfers in India (both neg) and then we switched to a U.S. surrogate (using the turkey baster method) and it still took us a year to get to where we are. We aren't out of the woods yet but we aren't going to take "no" for an answer. It'll happen. Hang in there.
ReplyDeleteHi, I wanted to let you know that I have been following your blog for a little while now. My husband and I are with Kiran too. We are hoping to transfer our embryos to a surrogate soon.
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry that it didn't work for you this time. I hope you get some good news soon.
Only just saw this, I'm sorry for this result. Keep trying, you will get there if you keep forging ahead, it just takes some a bit longer than others. Meg
ReplyDeleteHey guys - hope things are well. Any thoughts as to what you are going to try next? Hopefully the new year brings you much deserved good news!
ReplyDeleteThanks everyone for your thoughts. We're hoping to have new news to share very soon!
